DOWNTOWN LOUISVILLE NIGHTLIFE

4th Street Live: Lots of Bars

4th Street Live has every type of bar imaginable. You're sure to find something that you like.

Dress Code: Some places don't have much of a dress code but others do. So, if you want to be able to go in all of the places don't wear hats, baggy clothes, etc.

Lucky Strike Lanes: Get your Bowl On...

I am not sure whether this should be a Sports Tip or not, but since I rarely make it out past 8pm, I thought I better add it into Nightlife!

Lucky Strike is a franchise that is found throughout the US, but the Louisville location has the advantage of being located right in the heart of the Downtown scene. Its Fourth Street location makes it a convienent spot for a drink after work, or a party with a few of your rowdy friends.

You have two options when it comes to the bowling side... per person rates or a lane rental per hour. The per person rate ranges from 3.95 to 5.95 depending on what time, and the lane rental is $45 on weeknights, $65 on weekends. Shoe rentals are $3, and there are also billiards tables.

4th Street Live Bar Scene
4th Street Live is a nice bar district in Louisville. There are several bars, restaurants and clubs in the area and it's kept clean an friendly. The Louisville Hard Rock Cafe is also located here. They is a glass canopy covering the street which help protect from the elements when the weather is inclement.

O'Malley's Corner
I'm not a fan of a bunch of drunkards. This club had lousy music by my standards (dull, monotonous beat- repeated ad nauseum)
Their headlining band wasn't very good- although they do get good bands in occasionally. The theme is country, and you can ride their mechanical bull, or go into various rooms with differing styles of decor. But, (watching most of the people there) standing around, holding a beer and talking to no one while listening to cruddy music is not my idea of a good time. I had earplugs, though, and they have pool tables. A bunch of sleazy guys and slutty girls... maybe that's too harsh...

Dress Code: Whatever...skimpy...
no knives, guns or weapons of any sort

Definitely a locals spot, not for tourists, generally, and if you are clean cut and well dressed, you might not fit in, but I recommend the Back Door Bar. It has atmosphere and doesn't have the rich drunks from the east end.

Club X(Dance Rave Club): Club X(Dance Rave Club)

Starts about 3:30-4:00 in the morning on Saterday nights. (Which I guess is technically sunday). They play techno dance music. People do some really awesome tricks with light sticks. They have 2 dance floors which you will find several differant types of dancers. Just jump around a little and have some fun and you will fit in perfectly. As far as I know most any age can get in. Just expect to wait in line for a while your first few times or show up late (bewteen 4:30 and 5) The club is open until 10 anyways and still jumpin at 9

Dress Code: Wear what you like. A lot of people really don't care and wear normal clothes. and some people dress to impress with something a little more flashy. Something that is black light responsive is good. Beads or necklaces that glow are good.
